As dog owners, we treat our dogs as part of our family. We spoil them with treats, toys, and cuddles, and we even take them on road trips. Dogs have a far shorter lifespan than humans and dog owners will eventually experience the tragic loss of their dog because of old age. However, we can lose our dogs unexpectedly earlier because of diseases.
A man named Paul Heroux is the proud dad to a Japanese wolf-dog named Mura. Paul met Mura when she was still a puppy. Wherever Paul went, Mura would be there by his side. When Paul ran for Mayor in his hometown in Attleboro, Massachusetts, Mura was there by his side. Paul did win the election and was always taking Mura with him while performing his duties as Mayor.
Paul already had plans to go on a vacation to the Middle East. Unfortunately, Mura was sick and Paul took her to the vet. That’s when Paul was hit with bad news about his beloved dog. It turned out that Mura had an aggressive form of blood cancer and only had months to live. Devastated with the news, Paul canceled his trip to the Middle East and decided to spend his vacation with Mura.
To make Mura’s last days memorable, he planned a 12-day road trip with no one but him and Mura. Together, the two lifelong buddies traveled about 8,500 miles all across the country. Paul even crossed the border to Canada. Paul posted pictures of Mura on his social media and it didn’t take long for everyone to hear about Mura’s story.
Mura loved every minute of that trip. She was able to experience the sights and sounds and got a lot of love from the people she met during her trip. For Paul, he was just going on a ride with his dog. It’s truly a heartwarming story of a man doing everything he could to give his dog the best life.
Mura couldn’t be luckier to have Paul as her dad. Even during her last few months to live, Mura got to experience something rare. Here’s a heartwarming video telling Mura’s story and how Paul gave his beloved dog the best life that she deserves.
