STRAY DOGGOS OFTEN FEARED
Stray doggos are pretty much feared by many people. Sometimes strays are unfriendly. They are no longer used to humans entering their personal space. But fortunately, some people work at animal shelters, and rescue groups are willing to take the risk just to make sure these poor pups get the help they need. Oahu SPCA rescued a pack of stray dogs.
A WANDERING PACK OF PUPPERS
Dole employees in Wahiawa called the Oahu SPCA in Oahu, Hawaii. The pups safety was cause for worry by the employees. The wandering pack of puppers must’ve been loitering in the area.
ELUSIVE STRAY POOCH
Usually, rescuing stray doggos will only take one hour or a couple of days. But for this special pack of canines, it took three months to complete. There were three stray pups reported. The Oahu SPCA was able to rescue two of them right away. But the third pooch, Bernie, was quite elusive.
DANGEROUS FLOODWATER
It turned out that this evasive doggo was pregnant, which added to the worries of Kristen Hudson, the Director of Outreach at Oahu SPCA. During that time, a storm was about to hit the Aloha State, and they were expecting a lot of floodwater in Oahu.
SURPRISE MOMMA DOG
Luckily, because of the rescue group’s post on social media, people were able to point them to the location of the puppies. However, Bernie was still nowhere to be found. Hudson shared that she received a lot of reports about the momma dog, to the point that she had a map of the island on her wall so she could track her.
THE COMMUNITY TO THE RESCUE
With the community’s help, the Oahu SPCA was able to rescue Bernie after three long months! The five doggos were kept in the rescue group’s shelters. Not long after, three of them found forever homes.
