Have you ever really thought that the stray dog you’ve been seeing on the streets actually has an owner? Chances are, it has. So, as much as possible, have the pup scanned for a microchip before adopting it.
Such possibility has been illustrated by a heartwarming story of a dog rescued in Texas. A pup named Honey has been placed at the Animal Care Services Center of San Antonio City where he is considered a stray. But as the volunteers probe into his life, they’ve found out that Honey is not a street dog.
Honey has a family!
According to the shelter that has rescued Honey, the dog actually has a microchip, which proves that he has an owner. The staff members then call Honey’s owner to let him/her know that the dog will be staying at their facility. Thankfully, the owner returns the call, saying that she will reclaim the dog right away.
With Honey’s story, you’ll realize how important it is to have your pets microchipped. Proper pet registration can mean the difference between hope and heartbreak. If your pet is not microchipped yet, now may be the right time to get it done.
Honey gets reunited with his mom
The shelter’s coordinators take Honey to the woman who claims to be his owner. And the moment the two meet, the woman bursts into tears. She falls to her knees and holds the dog, asking him if he remembers her.
And Honey does remember her! The woman keeps hugging and kissing the dog who also returns the affection. He shows that he remembers his owner by wagging his tail. At this point, the woman reveals that Honey has been missing for seven years.
The said reunion just shows that some miracles happen. And it also proves that good news comes unexpectedly.
