It’s not often that we see a squirrel getting along with dogs. Usually, dogs would bark and chase after squirrels. However, it’s entirely possible for dogs to become friends with squirrels and other animal species.
A squirrel named Zach was rescued when he still a tiny baby squirrel. Zach was blown out of a nest and would have likely died if he wasn’t found and rescued. Zach was still a baby squirrel with his eyes still closed when he was rescued.
The man who rescued Zach happened to live next door to a man named David, who already had experience in rescuing flying squirrels before. David was more than willing to take Zach in and raise him.
David also had two dogs named Maddox and Madison, who were so curious about the furry little thing that their dad was taking care of. When Zach opened his eyes for the very first time, Zach first saw Maddox and Madison.
Maddox and Madison eventually accepted Zach as part of the family. It wasn’t long until Zach grew stronger and bigger. Zach eventually learned to climb and hop around the house. Zach also developed a special bond with dogs.
However, it wasn’t until David adopted a puppy named Major that Zach found his new best friend. Major is also obsessed with Zach and follows him around all day. Major also does mostly everything that Zach does and also lets Zach ride on top of him.
Because Zach grew up in a domesticated setting, it’s not possible for him to be able to survive in the wild anymore. There was no way that David was able to release him, and David decided to let Zach become part of the family. Here’s a heartwarming video showing how Zach grew up with dogs and how he became a part of the pack.
