AUSTRALIAN RESCUE
Drax is a gorgeous boy that lives with his beautiful family in Cloyne, Queensland, Australia. He has a wonderful life, but he struggled in his earlier years. He lived on the streets and curled up outside the same supermarket for days.
On the day of his rescue, Drax looked defeated. He was skinny, filthy, and sad. It was evident that no one has cared for him for a very long time.
LAID-BACK BOY
Charmaine Hulley, Dax’s mom, describes him as the most placid dog anyone could come across with. He is so loving, always happy, and a laid-back boy who simply adores all the dogs he gets to meet.
Back in the days, Charmaine lived with her sister, who cares for four smaller dogs. Drax, being the newbie in the house, took cues from his cousins and learned how to be a dog from them. He copied everything they did and shared doggy beds, even the smallest ones.
Soon, Charmaine had her own place and moved out. She took Drax with her and adopted another dog to be his companion. From time to time, they come back and visit his cousins so they could play again. And during their most recent visit, something incredible unexpected happened.
Since living his life on the streets, Drax had gained a couple of pounds. He eats delicious meals and gets treats all the time, so why won’t he? But he only realized it when he followed his cousins go through the doggy dog.
Because all four dogs were smaller, they went through just fine. But when Drax took his turn, he got stuck. The chonky boy pushed himself out, and before anyone knew it, he broke the doggy door, and he walked with half of the panel on him.
Drax wasn’t sure what happened at first. He knew there’s a panel sticking around him, but he didn’t know why. He wandered around the house casually, like nothing actually happened.
Charmaine, her sister, and her dad burst into laughter when they saw Drax. But it was also the family’s wake-up call because they realized that it’s time for this chonky boy to go on a diet. Sorry, Drax. Everyone agrees you’re a good boy, but Mom’s gotta cut down your treats moving forward.
