PUPPY FIGHTS TO LIVE
Dogs, just like any human, get sick too. But, being sick is a lot harder for dogs because they cannot help themselves on their own. Luckily, there are still good people who won’t just sit around and do nothing until they see these dogs get back on their feet.
NO VETERINARY CARE IN GAMBIA
In Gambia, a little puppy named Hiccup got himself an injured front paw. Due to the non-existence of veterinary care in the area, his family had nowhere else to run for help. Fortunately, a team of animal caretakers from the Gambia Horse and Donkey Trust was already on the move at that time. They came to organize a come-and-go clinic around the community which provides accessible medical assistance to sick animals. To seek help, Hiccup’s family then made their way to the said clinic.
EMILY A VET NURSE
Waiting at the clinic was a Vet Nurse Emily, who was disheartened to see Hiccup struggling with a severe infection affecting his paw. Due to the pooch’s life-threatening illness and the family’s circumstances, the pup was handed over to the team for better treatment. He was then brought to the main clinic to address his needs despite the uncertainty of survival. Emily watched over Hiccup around the clock to monitor his safety and progress throughout the medication process.
LITTLE PUPPY NAMED HICCUP
As days passed, Hiccup endured everything and continued to fight for his life no matter how hard his situation was. Not long after, the pup soon recovered and finally got back to his old self. Hiccup then became a resident of the Gambia Horse and Donkey Trust along with many other dogs who had the same experience as him.
HICCUP SURVIVES AND THRIVES
Thanks to the whole team’s help, Hiccup is now happier and healthier than before. Most of his time was spent with Emily, his favorite person. And even with only three paws left, it didn’t slow him down, and he is continuously progressing day by day. Soon, he will be provided with a prosthetic paw once he is ready. Emily and the team vouch to give Hiccup the best care possible in order for him to live a good life hereafter.
